GYM & SWIM

Your YMCA preschool program now offers exclusive swim lessons and gym classes as part of our improved curriculum.


On each Monday and Wednesday afternoon, your child may choose to participate in YMCA Preschool Swim lessons. On Tuesday and Friday afternoon, your child will participate in a free benefit to all child care enrollees the “YMCA Wee Be Fit” program. Both activities will develop skills for a lifetime. In the gym, development of fine and large motor skills, as well as activities that will stimulate hand-eye / foot-eye coordination, balance, concentration, and teamwork will be taught. In the pool, children develop safe pool practices, adjust to the water and learn basic swimming movements. Swim lessons will help your child build confidence and motor skills. Registation complteted at the front desk.

It is for ages 1 to 6 years. Hours of operation for this service
is 5:30-8:00 p.m. No Drop-ins. Parent must be in the building.
*Reservations must be made in advance.

BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE

Together we can build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities!


The YMCA takes a community-wide approach to meeting the needs of working parents and their children. As a community partner with schools and families, the YMCA ensures that a quality program is provided to all children. This program offers the children an opportunity to participate in age appropriate activities. We offer a nutritious snack, homework time and outdoor play. Tutoring is also available at an addtional cost. Our school age program is under the direction of Mandy Bernard. Should you have any questions,

Off site: Holy Name School, 409 South 22nd Street, Escanaba
When:Monday-Friday 7:00 am-9:00 am; 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Cost: $3.75 hour

Off site: Rapid River School, 10070 US 2, Rapid River
When:Monday-Friday Monday-Friday 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Cost: $3.75 hour

CHILD CARE PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

Our program also offers a Preschool Program that runs Monday –Friday. Our daily schedule includes:
• Group Time-Greeting/Calendar
• Learning Centers which include art, manipulative, dramatic play,
literature.
• Large group activities which include music, stories, and creative movement.
• Gym N Swim
• Weekly field trips based on the theme of the week
• Bike Day

Our goals for the Preschool Program are as follows:
• To provide a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for your child.
• To support children’s development by cherishing individual differences, helping them learn about cooperation, and promoting self-esteem.
• To provide a learning experience for the whole child; physically, mentally, and socially.


CHILD CARE

The YMCA of Delta County offers a fully licensed day care conveniently located on the campus of Bay De Noc Community College. Our staff consists of a team of qualified caregivers trained in the care and education of young children. Our child care center is under the direction of Amy Cousineau. We have several childcare options to suit your child care needs. Our hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

12months to 2 Years Old Full Day:

2 to 12 Years Old Full Day:
 $28.00
  **Second Child $25.00

Full time enrollment includes FREE swim lessons.

OUR PROGRAM

With four excellent options our Childcare will solve your needs. Our center on campus has three rooms: Room One is our Young Toddler Room; Room Two is our Preschool Program and Room Three is our Learning Lab which is geared for children entering Kindergarten. We also offer a before and after school program that is located at Holy Name School in Escanaba and Rapid River School in Rapid River. Our program follows a curriculum based on fun ways to develop skills through interactive play, arts and crafts, and exciting activities.

MEALS

At the YMCA Childcare Center, your child will receive a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. Our meals are prepared fresh. We send a calendar home so you are aware of our monthly lunch menu.
